It’s Not Exactly a Metaphor…
But what I was trying to come up with yesterday, or earlier this week, that of a fallen leaf frozen in clear ice, seemed to have some evocative depth. It might still, but I can’t find the right way to make it do what I want it to do. That’s the flow state; when a few minutes of writing turns into 45 minutes or an hour trying to fit a vision or an idea into a structure. Sometimes, like in this case, I have to let go of the idea, but it’s always worth a few minutes to see. It’s almost like trying to put a puzzle together without seeing the picture, or, rather that the picture won’t appear until all the pieces are in place.
Less Than Two Weeks?
Geez, I must be a prolific writer or something. Still, I submitted a story, so we’ll see what that has to do with anything in a few weeks, (like 12) and I have made some progress in work writing. Hooray! Someone at work asked me to do some other writing, too, so things are looking up for me.
See, this I-M works. I didn’t believe it before but I do now. Just make sure you get your intention focused and then do the things that come up to do, and blammo! Or, more like gradually, things will go your way.
What, me blog?
I guess that taking a few weeks between posts is about the best I can hope for. I am a busy guy, after all. So, recently I got another writing assignment, and it has led to more and more. Universe, lay it on me!
What else? Synchronicities keep happening, like clockwork. I-M isn’t necessarily the only model, but it freakin’ works, man. Still, I would like others to comment, but no one will ever see this blog : ) Dig this, it’s like writing on the bathroom wall in the womens’ room at an all boys school. Someone may stumble upon it, but it ain’t likely.
Call the Police
It’s funny how those synchronicities keep coming once you add something to your list of intentions. Now that I have made a decision, the universe is aligning itself to make it happen.
I snagged a short but important writing assignment, so I get to practice a letter of sorts. It’s volunteer only, so there is less pressure than if it were paid, but I’m sure that paid gigs are just around the corner, and that I’ll be able to make a living writing in the near future.
I am a lucky guy, and I sometimes forget that fact. Now, I just need to have business cards made, and then I can start handing them out.
